Bed Time Angels Music
Children can be frightened by sound, being in the dark, or just being alone when going to sleep. A child is life’s greatest blessing. Parents and grandparents should understand their feelings.
When my grandchildren were little, I used to read and tell them stories about having their own guardian angel. And my story went like this:
“Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, the very first day you were born, God sent you a beautiful guardian angel. Angels live in Heaven with God. And God sends them to Earth to love and protect us. They keep watch day and night, while they swing on the stars. Every time you see a falling star, an angel is nearby. if you truly believe in angels, you will have nothing to fear. Now you can close your eyes, and dream your sweetest dreams, and an angel will kiss you during the night.”
As my grandchildren grew older, it was harder for them to fall asleep. I started playing music for them. One problem - as soon as the song ended, they were still wide awake. I had to start the song over and over again. At that time, I had just started writing spiritual music for children. I came up with an idea. Instead of a five minute song, I would record the same song to play for 60 minutes without ending. Sure enough, they were all off to dreamland.
My granddaughter, Faith Angelina, started singing when she was 15 months old. I wrote a song for her called “If You Want To Call An Angel, Just Ring A Little Bell.” We recorded this song when she was 4-1/2 years old. Faith is now working on another song I wrote called “Counting Angels to Help You Fall Asleep.”
