Why déjà -vu?
Every time I play a concert in this magical place I transform a bit. My senses for time and place are getting fuzzy. Coming out of the cave – out of mother earths belly – I am mostly surprised about the „normal“ world. She seems familiar, yet somehow different, maybe a bit like being born again.
Hohle Fels
the „Hohle Fels“ (swabian german for „hollow rock“) is a beautiful cave located in southwest germany near schelklingen. She is basically one huge chamber which is entered by a short passage.
The cool air is filled with constant drippy and splashy sounds.
Artifacts found in this cave, like a flute made from a vulture bone and the „VENUS vom Hohle Fels“, a venus figurine which is presumed to be an amulet related to fertility, made of a woolly mammoth tusk, are dated approximately 35.000 – 40.000 years ago and made this cave famous.
All songs recorded in the Hohle Fels at a concert on May 29th 2010 and additional recording in july.
All voices, didgeridoo, overtone singing, percussion and noises are made by frank on the spot. To layer them a boss rc50 loopstation was used.
