In 2001 Fly Tucker released Steady as She Goes recorded in Los Angeles and his second independently released recording. Rif Raf Magazine (Belgium) described the music as ''Warm jazz-pop meets rock, country, and folk, with soul accents.'' His first release, Virtual Velvet (1999), has been featured on alternative/ college radio such as Los Angeles'' KCRW and other "indie" stations throughout America.
Steady as She Goes combines the talents of Fly Tucker on guitar and vocals with an array of special guests, from the Los Angeles music community. Guest stars on the album include Dante Pascuzzo (bass) of QUETZAL, one of the leading bands to stem from the Los Angeles Chicano music Movement, Kyan Wynuk (drums), Adam Benjamin (Fender Rhodes) of Kneebody, Guenevere Measham (cello) who has played with the Bangles, Better than Ezra, and is sponsored by Ned https://www.tradebit.comady as She Goes was produced by KCRW''s sound engineer Jef Hogan and Fly Tucker.
