About the Author
Winston Gay is truly in a class all by himself—a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. When he performs, audiences from as far as Sydney Australia to Montreal Canada stop, listen, and applaud. Known as a ''musician''s musician'', Winston began as a guitarist for many hometown vocal groups until his uncanny skills on his instrument attracted the ear of professional recording artists from Philadelphia International Records Company, under the guidance of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. He has traveled worldwide as support musician for artists such as The Stylistics, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, The Tymes, Bunny Siegler, Dexter Wansel, Jean Carn, Eddie Holman, Maceo Parker, McFadden & Whitehead, the Delphonics, the Intruders, and countles others.
From 1977 to 1986, Winston assisted the rehearsals of Bobby and Tommy De''Barge, Shalamar, Leon Sylvers, ''Wolfman'' Jack ( The Midnight Special ) as well as composing and producing two television show themes in Hollywood, California. He has written ''Count On Me'' for the Ritchie family album ''I''ll Do My Best'', and recorded in Kenny Rogers ''Lionshare'' Studios, Motown''s ''Hitwest'' Studio, the late Marvin Gaye''s Recording Studio on Sunset Boulevard, and the famous Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia.
Today, Winston has evolved into a virtual ''one-man-orchestra'', using his amazing guitar synthesizer that emulates over one thousand different instruments and sounds. On the album ‘Hands On!’, he uses his incrudible artisty on the acoustc guitar, and dual guitar syntheizers to bring his magificent original compostions to life!
Author of ‘The Monster Musician’s Manual’, ‘The Monster Songwriter’s Manual’ and his original Gospel-pop CD, ‘My God Loves You’; Winston continues to wow audiences through his performances at home and aboard. ‘Hands On!’ is a culmination of 40 years of experience and his ongoing desire to reach a new generation of listeners.
