DtK, or "Dave the King" was born on November 21, 1989 in the city of charm, Baltimore, MD. At an early age he relocated to Shannon, NC, where he began to establish himself as a prodigal genius. DtK developed a fascination with literature and dreamed of becoming a writer. He is notable for many achievements including; pursuing dual enrollment combining secondary and post secondary education ultimately resulting in a college graduation before completing high school, achieving a near perfect score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, and becoming a successful member of the United States Air Force.
DtK’s most prominent feature and true passion however, is his exceptional drive to create music. Being a prosperous Literature major in college allowed DtK to apply his quick wits to songwriting and he has been doing just that since 2007. Releasing several mixtapes and independent tracks gained him local notoriety as a talented singer/songwriter in the southeastern area of NC and eventually the surrounding states.
DtK is renowned for “Real Music.” When asked to explain his “Real Music” movement he replies, “I love all music of all genres... But I am a fan of real music, music with emotion, passion, music that has deeper meaning. Music that addresses issues, distributes passion, and sounds good simultaneously!” DtK’s current work in progress is his “Reminiscing” album which he describes as a reflection of the tragedies and blessings of his life. He believes that merging his creativity and versatility with Conquer Entertainment''s marketing capabilites will assist him in extending his music to the ears of eager fans all around the world.
There is only one way to describe the vocal presence of DtK - lyrically intense, a true literary master sighing on a microphone. Because to DtK, music just comes naturally.
