Hailing from the murky depths of sweaty mosh pits and smelly venues, Sebastian “The Dirty Mexican” Alvarez and Stephane Albert (Quirksta) have created a force in the form of a Punk electro duo called DIRTIZM.
This act is a classic case of when opposites attract, one crazy character that can shout the hair off a Gorilla and blast the strings off a guitar while the other sits docile in a corner with a hard drive full of beats and a mind full of ideas.
Sebastian has always felt at home with a gut full of passion and hands busy with guitar strings. This has lead the Dirty Mexican down the path of punk rock/metal/alternative influences and would then thrust him onto the stage in a mess of tangled cables and shredded vocal chords. Playing in several acts, he began to work on soundtracks and production. Finding solace in a career in television as a lackey behind the scenes he lays dormant, waiting for the right moment to pounce onto an unsuspecting crowd, using his guitar like a weapon and his vocal chords as a riot starter.
Dirtizm’s other half is the man behind the hard rockin’ beats and dirty bass lines. Stephane has been in the Australian electronic music scene for over 13 years, djing, producing and hosting his on national show on Alchemy Radio. Having dabbled in production on his own stuff over the years he knew it was time to kick it up a notch and find the right team mate to play the same game he was into, Electro with thumping beats and mind boggling hard rock/ punk rock guitar riffs.
Together with Sebastian they bring a new edge to Punk Electro and their first single “get out of my head” proves that!
