11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Extended Jams, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
Quartus brings together a unique blend of rock, unlike anything else in the region. Hard to classify musically, their sound oozes of rock, jazz, blues and funk. Melting great lyrics over tasty grooves, it’s easy to see why the band has made big waves in such little time. Often compared to the Dave Mathews Band, OAR and John Mayer, Quartus has its own fresh sound that is perfect for nearly any age group. Forming in January 2003 and releasing 4 albums to date, the band has gained excellent support and has built a large, dedicated following. They have obtained airplay on commercial radio stations in the mid-west and are favorites on area college stations.

They landed the support of Castle Records in Nashville TN for their 2004 summer release of their third album, “So Fine,” which was music retailer Sam Goody’s biggest seller for 4 continuous months in the Siouxland area.

From first sight, Quartus sets themselves apart from the typical rock band scene. Besides the creative acoustic guitar and vocal work, and the drum and bass foundation, they feature two stellar musicians on trumpet and saxophone. This instrumentation, along with superb song writing, contributes to an overall sound that is new, extremely original and exciting. Primarily playing their original songs at shows, the guys have been known to mix in a few 50''s dance songs, an OAR hit or the latest song on top 40 Radio!

The band has had the pleasure of supporting and sharing the stage with such acts as Blessed Union of Souls, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Los Lobos, Buddy Guy, Kelly Hunt, The Yonder Mountain String Band, Corey Stevens and more.

The band’s newest album, “Something Like Live,” (May 06’) is a live-based recording steering clear from an over-produced, canned studio album. Front man Bobby Frankl felt strongly about giving listeners the feel of an actual Quartus show, rather than giving them an album that couldn’t be duplicated live.
