A project—that’s what the 4 aspired members of project 1.9 think of their first successful year together, and what continues to drive them for their promising future. Not distracted by the usual and expected temptations of the music industry, Dave, Ross, Nate, and Adam are enjoying life to the fullest as 4 career-driven college students in Boston, Massachusettes. Their real-life experiences are what drive their “down-to-earth” lyrics and addictively catchy melodies. Commonly compared to such mainstream bands as Lifehouse and Maroon 5, Project 1.9 brings an electric approach to each stage they step on that has captured the ears of a respectable fan base in Boston, New York, and other areas of the Northeast. Playing clubs and bars on a regular basis around these cities has been the norm for Project 1.9 in the last year, as they have already enjoyed opportunities to open for such acts as Gavin Degraw, Michael Tolcher, Kay Hanley (Letters To Cleo), and Averi. Their incredible success on Internet promotional sites such as https://www.tradebit.com has captured an audience that looks to be extremely promising in the band’s future. Originally an acoustic group, Project 1.9 realized that they had too much musical energy to stay unplugged and decided to make some changes. Adding drummer Adam Tabas and switching guitarist Dave Snell from acoustic guitar to electric guitar started these changes and in the Spring of 2004, the new and improved Project 1.9 were on their way. “What makes this band unique are the 4 separate styles that each member brings and adds to our music,” explains band front-man Ross Hopman. Integrating different genres and influences has helped each band member grow musically to create and extraordinary blend of sounds. Project 1.9 recorded their first full band EP in NYC during the Summer of 2004 at JSM Studios. The finished project included such songs as “January,” “Coffeeshop,” and “Branded,” all of which have been critically acclaimed. The band has just recently finished their debut album, “Broken Images” and plans to hit the road hard over the next year in hopes of promoting it. The self-produced album features a mix of newer versions of older songs such as “Adrenaline & Melodies” and “Step Once,” along with a variety of new songs such as “Ordinary World” and “Twisted.” The band has high-hopes for this album and their future together.
