Details:
Beginning his career at an early age, Jason was a member of the McDonalds All-American Jazz Band, and winner of the best soloist competition at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. He has continued to perform professionally throughout the United States and abroad, living and playing in New York City, Miami and Portland.

As an accomplished studio musician and singer/songwriter, he has still found time to perform and tour with over a dozen Grammy Award Winning artists including---Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Arturo Sandoval, Lionel Hampton, The James Brown Band, Gene Harris and shared the stage with artists such as Bob Mintzer, Ernie Watts, Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham, Bill Watrous, Randy Brecker, Bruce Willis and the LA Accelerators, Chuck Findley, Mike Vax, Carl Fontana, Louie Bellson, Stan Mark, Red Rodney, Curtis Stigers, Gary burton and numerous others.

Nationial television appearances include the Today Show on NBC, Late Night with David Letterman and the Jerry Louis Telethon. He has recently performed on the two premier and largest cruise vessels in the world the Mariner of the seas and the ultra liner Queen Mary Two.

At the request and countless suggestions of fellow artists, Jason decided it was time to consider releasing a debut solo album. That time has come, and the time is now..............

The CD "Two Reasons" will contain twelve all original compositions. The sound will be unique, melody driven "smooth" jazz with an unmistakable undercurrent of R & B, Hip-Hop and modern funk-fusion. The crossover appeal will be enormous---from smooth and jazz fans in general to an average listener seeking something "different but cool" to add to their collection. Parra can transition between a rich, ultra smooth Flugel/Trumpet melody to an almost unbelievable upper register and "Sanborn-like" solo riffs with ease. His vocals have often been described as a combination of Barry White and Montel Jorden, "surprising soulful" writes entertainment critic Michael Deeds. Contemporary jazz has needed a fresh new artist for some time now. Combining the talent, visual appeal/vocal ability, and the songwriting talents of Jason Parra and Wayne Levy, the mass market demographic demand will be undeniable.
