Groove-oriented, riff-heavy, melodic hard rock with classic vocal harmonies and hooks.
8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, POP: Beatles-pop
Details:
Crushing Ground began as a short-lived four-piece that quickly parted ways with its original singer. The band became a power trio when bassist Chris Szekely and Guitarist Rob Roush decided to take over the vocal duties. Together with drummer Darrin Rathgeb, they recorded and eventually released a debut disc titled, "Zero" in December of 2001.
Scott Mervis of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes:
Crushing Ground came out of the studio with a slick sounding finished project...a straightforward power-trio rock record with strong harmonies.
The Tribune-Review writes:
What sets the band apart is their song writing..."Silhouette" and "On the Other Hand" are radio-worthy tunes.
In support of the "Zero" disc, Crushing Ground headlined many bars and clubs, while opening for such acts as Kansas and 38 Special at Washington County Fairgrounds and Donnie Iris at the Pepsi-cola Roadhouse. Their song, "Feels Like Home" was frequently played on WDVE’s "Homegrown" show.
Fueled with a monstrous new sound and exposure that’s sparking a lot of new interest, Crushing Ground continues to bring you what they do best: quality original music with memorable melodies, killer grooves and lyrical substance.
