MP3 Brad Cassetto - American Landscape

Indi-Rock portrait of travel in 21st century America.

10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: 70''s Rock

Details:
(b.1971 Chicago, IL) Louisville based singer, songwriter, guitarist Brad Cassetto has amassed an impressive body of work in 15 years of writing, performing, producing and engineering music for himself and other artists. Cassetto''s latest album American Landscape comes on the heels of his 2004 release the Dickens, which showcased Cassetto''s writing talent, and instrumental prowess. American Landscape is a decidedly more pop record, but not necessarily a lighter one. While every song has its sing-along moments the lyrical tone often provides a stark contrast to the more optimistic music. Airports, truckstops, hotels and tollways provide the setting for many of these songs that celebrate the wonders of modern American travel, while spelling out the feelings of isolation and disorientation that come from being away from home and family. Cassetto uses this common experience as a vehicle to paint a portrait of modern America with all of its aspirations and contradictions. It should not be overlooked just how much this album rocks! Cassetto exploits these conflicts building tension and anticipation. Generous helpings of humor give buoyancy to the stinging lyrical indictments, while the adventurous use of contrasting musical textures keeps you on your toes. Cassetto recently relocated to Louisville KY, from Minneapolis MN, where he was based for ten years. During this time he worked with such esteemed artists as; Jeff Tweedy & Jay Bennett of Wilco, Kat Bjelland and Babes in Toyland, the Melvins, Girls Against Boys, Mark Mallman, and Atmosphere. A dynamic and passionate performer, Cassetto will bring his brand of joyful and effortless stagecraft to clubs across the country.
