Details:
[Shine] is the name of the album. And it''s a mandate handed down by Jesus Himself, a long time ago. "A city on a hill can''t be hidden," He said. "Let your light shine so that everyone can see the good work you''re doing. It''ll bring glory to God."

City on a Hill is a band, but it''s a ministry, too. The unique blend of Classic and ''80s rock influences that shape the band''s sound becomes a vehicle for the words of hope--and sometimes hurt-- that are communicated in the lyrics. From the heart-on-the-sleeve invitation of the album''s opener, "Invocation" to the exuberant praise of "Joy of the Lord" to the broken cry for help of "Too Big For Me" to the anthemic guitar-rock of "The Spirit Moves" to the delicate realization of divine grace found in "You Meet Him There"... these are songs that come from real life.

The collection of all-original material stems mostly from the collaboration of songwriting partners Adam Pride and Matt Fletcher... along with backing vocalist Tom Groves, who contributed the high-energy, hands-in-the-air "I Will Give Thanks". Recorded throughout 2009, the songs reflect years of work and a lifetime of experiences. This is a band whose biggest thrill is to witness and participate in a connection made between their audience and their God, coming about through the music they love to perform. [Shine] keeps that experience alive away from the stage, looking to bring equal measures of comfort, empathy, exuberance, joy and praise to the listener.

Jesus said it in a single word: "Shine".

City on a Hill replies with two: "Yes, Lord!"

Amen!
