Ladies and gentlemen, here we have a winsome musical message sent by special delivery direct to you by one of the most exciting popular beat combos to come this way in a long while. Four young men calling themselves The Orbisonics are set to cause quite a stir on the rockabilly scene. Included on this electric spread-page is a highly personalised selection of tunes penned by two of our young fellows. In July of 2009 the band recorded a full length lp that they were set to release as a charity record. Tragedy was to strike, however, when a group of selfish miscreants broke into the recording facilities and popped two Apple-Mackintosh recording machines containing the only copies of the band’s work into their devilish swag bags. Never ones to throw in the towel when adversity strikes, our intrepid chaps decided to write this short album in their kitchen so that the public could at least have a taster of the musical gumbo that the boys have been cooking up. The instrumentals available here feature only Henry and Nicholas. The Chinese are no strangers to wisdom and, as luck would have it, the boys have experienced their share of Ying as well as Yang. As a long-time admirer of Elvis Presley, the King of rock and roll, young Henry summoned confidence and sent some rough recordings that The Orbisonics had made to the great Jerry Scheff, bass player extraordinaire and member of the legendary TCB. It would seem that Jerry’s fancy was definitely tickled and the boys were invited to support the TCB band at an intimate gig at Duns Castle in Scotland. After a shuffle in the line-up the combo is stronger than ever and ready to rock.
Henry Aronsson – lead guitar, piano and bass guitar. Young Hank is a terrific guitarist who models himself on the great James Burton, with whom he has shared a stage. Hank is a dab hand at composition and arrangement. In his younger days, he was a music scholar specialising in classical guitar and piano. By day, he is a civil engineer.
Nicholas Kemp – drums. Nick is the oldest member of the band. Oldest by quite some way. He was born a rockabilly and whilst he has spent many years attempting to look respectable, there is no changing this leopard’s spots. Nick picked up his sticks for the first time as a young school boy and quickly mastered the rockabilly style. By day, he works in the field of education.
