Johnny West was born in Chicago, raised in Southern California, and spent a good portion of his life in the Bay area of Northern California. The inspiration to become an artist came from his Mother, a Las Vegas radio personality, who surrounded him with music throughout his childhood. At the age of 12, he started a small rap group called PMS (Psycho-Matic-Sylum) and performed at school functions, churches, and house parties. Soon after he became a lead singer of a punk group, and later started writing his own solo work in hip-hop and rap.
Johnny West broke into the rap scene in 1999 recording with such award winning artists as Rappin 4 Tay, Spice 1, and Suga free. He has worked closely with Chuck Garric, Bass Guitarist for Alice Cooper, and Kevin Dippold, producer for Smashing Pumpkins. Johnny is currently working on his second album and promises it will be twice as different and twice as good...
