Details:
Magic Trees is a fun, four-piece rock n roll troupe consisting of four friends who share a love of life and music. Their debut disc, “Everything Is A Song” was released in October 2010, featuring 12 original songs recorded in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The name Magic Trees was inspired by the "Consciousness Tree" in Jason''s back yard. After having spent countless hours looking up at the sun through it’s leaves, discussing philosophy and the universe while strumming sweetly on guitars, the band felt that it symbolized the journey they were about to undertake. The fifth member of the band, the tree even stars in the group''s video for the song "Go To Sleep"!

As with most things that slip quietly and meaningfully into our lives, Magic Trees seemed to start it''s existence before even the members realized it! The four met as actors performing Shakespeare in an outdoor festival and became best friends before ever playing music together. They started writing songs with each other while touring and recording with a ten-piece jam band called "Bridges Of Light" during 2009. When that group started to dissolve with gigs still on it''s calendar, Magic Trees sprang out and started gigging after only an eight-day rehearsal period.

In the recording studio everyone winds up taking turns on guitars, percussion, piano, or whatever instruments are lying around. When the band plays live however, Jason Moon howls out the lead vocals and rips bluesy rhythm and lead patterns on his Telecaster, while Ian Dickson pounds the drums and lends his baritone voice to the mix. Colleen Moon hangs back playing chords on a 70''s-sounding organ with one hand while often playing tambourine, shaker, or cowbell with the other, and Jaime Dickson strums an acoustic while dancing wildly and occasionally pumping her fist in the air with glee.

The group finishes their Canadian tour in February 2011 and will be heading to England in the spring to work on writing and recording demos for their next album.

Love!
