Details:
I''ve played, toured, and recorded with some greats and opened for many national acts--that''s all on my bio page at https://www.tradebit.com. These days I do the same and also teach college writing courses. Some of the people I cover in my Intro. to Literature course have seeped into my songwriting. I recommend buying the hard copy of this disc so that you can see the artwork for it. It really informs the lyric and the spirit of the disc. "Red (For Malcolm X)" is a summary of the Spike Lee film, X. "Un is the Loneliest Prefix (For Harvey Pekar)" is a response to the film American Splendor. "Shine" is an anti-bullying song, and "And the Child Will Wait" is a response to "Who is Harry Nilsson and Why is Everybody Talking About Him?" (a film based on Harry Nilsson). "Define Us" is a response to the proposed Park 51 site, and "Land of the Literal" is based on a Gore Vidal quote: "America: Home of the dull, land of the literal." There are no big productions on this disc as there are on Yellow Envelope, but I am proud of it as a raw, unique treat. Feel free to send me my report card at https://www.tradebit.com :)
