Sonny Blom Trio-Albedo
Sonny Blom, bandleader, composer, arranger and guitarist, is now releasing his first solo album titled "Albedo". The album contains six brand-new songs with a unique touch. The line-up is the traditional guitar trio, and as guest musician, he also brings Martin Norberg (saxophones) and Ola Åkerman (trombone), both contributing with their own unique touch. The rest of the band are: Johannes Nästesjö-bass, and Andreas Baw on drums.
This is an organic guitar album, fresh and live! (in studio) It''s full of surprises and a fun listen from start to finish. Blom shows remarkable range and technical fluidity . The songs range from the Scandinavian melancholy to urban metropolitan fusion with high "hip" factor. This Malmö-based trio has found a unique sound on this debut, and the musicians are all musical daredevils!
Elements of both the Swedish folk music and American rock are clearly present. This trio is now ready to take on new challenges while ruthlessly violating the traditional "standardform" you normally associate with the genre.
"Coming from a background in both folk and jazz, this became a natural step to take for me. I also wanted to play with musicians that I knew would meet the challenge.
