Selena Moss is a singer/songwriter currently living in Fort McMurray. Born and raised in Mankota, a small town in southern saskatchewan, Selena spent her childhood in the country. She began writing at the age of 12 and was influenced by country music as well as female artists such as Sarah Mclaughlin, Jewel and Amanda https://www.tradebit.com love of music was lit, at a young age she would listen to her grandfather, who was able to play violin, accordion, piano, mandolin, banjo and and guitar. It was the love of music that encouraged her mom and dad, Denise and Joseph Morin to send Selena to the college Mathieu in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan because it offered a music program that allowed her to tour throughout Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan in a french alternative rock cover band called The MAT. After graduation Selena moved to Fort McMurray and attended Keyano College, in the music program where she recieved her certificate for music in Voice. Selena then took a few years off from playing and writing music as she found it difficult to find the inspiration to write. It wasnt until after losing her mother to ovarion cancer in 2009 that Selena was able to write again. The song A Mother''s Love was the song she wrote after her loss and speaks of the journey taken when she found out about her mother''s illness. As a final gift in memory of her mother all proceeds from the sale of the song will be going to cancer research.
