Details:
David J. Burkhard is a psychotherapist in privated practice. He began writing songs in 2005 at the age of 48. The songs are reflections on personal experiences intertwined with themes from psychodynamic psychotherapy and spirituality. David formed the Random Harvest band in 2004. The band currently consists of 7 members with diverse musical backgrounds ranging from involvement in church ensembles to classical solo/group performances to self-taught Rock ''N Roll bands to solo performances of polkas and waltzes.
"Ode to Mystery" is the first CD recorded by the group. The project began in August of 2009 and was interrupted when lead guitar/mandolin player and harmony vocalist, Kerry Brand, died suddendly on September 21, 2009. Other musicians became involved in the project and helped to complete the project. The band membership solidified over the Summer of 2010. "Ode to Mystery" was released on October 16, 2010 at the "Concert in the Yard", an annual event sponsored by the Burkhard family for relatives, neighbors, and other friends. The band is now busy completing recording a second CD and scheduling performances for 2011.
