Details:
A single from the soon-to-be-released and highly anticipated debut album, ''THE BATTLE.'' This single, titled ''Somebody,'' is being released ahead of schedule in response to the 03/11/2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster. 100% of the artist proceeds will be donated to "Save the Children" on behalf of the Japan relief effort. Let`s do what we can to help those in need. Even tho` some time has passed, there is still a great need for donations. There are still homeless. There is still a need for clean drinking water, food, clothing, Medicines, blankets, and the list goes on. ''Somebody'' is a compelling poetic ballad, a soulful spiritual song asking each of us simply to care, to ask why, to look beyond our own needs and take a stand. Trust GOD and make a difference... Everybody... Anybody... Somebody. This song pulls on your heartstrings, a beautiful work for a humane cause. Thank you, ELORD. More of these, please.

Born and raised in Summit (ARGO), a small suburb on the west side of Chicago, ELORD grew up in the Church of GOD in Christ. When asked about that time in his life, he says, "I remember when I was a little boy, we lived next door to the church only six or seven feet away wall to wall. I remember you could see into the church from our kitchen window and into the house from the church. Whenever the church lights came on, Mama would say "Go get with the Saints," and so there I would be in service day and night, and I remember the times I would look out of the church window into my kitchen window and see Mama and I would think to myself, " Hey, wait a minute."

As he grew up, he spent a year in Catholic Mass, and at age 17 ELORD officially accepted the Lord as his Savior. Shortly thereafter, he became a Certified Evangelical Teacher. He soon discovered -- by chance or by fate or by divine destiny -- that he could play by ear any instrument that he picked up. Within an hour, he would compose two or three songs for an instrument he had never held before. ELORD went on ever wanting to be of service and wrote and produced hundreds of songs, many of them for local artist in Chicago and Texas.

At 25, ELORD moved to Texas, where he continued his service in Ministry at 19th Street Baptist Church and accepted his calling to Preach the Gospel Ministry. During this time, he attended the sixty-eighth Annual Session of the Lacey Kirk Williams Ministers Institute and also enrolled in the Mount Olive Bible Institute. After serving as Youth Pastor at 19th Street Baptist Church for several years ELORD was called to serve as Minister of Music at Antioch Community Church, a non-denominational church in central Texas. He also received a Certificate of Achievement from Billboard for songwriting. Always willing to serve when and wherever the lord ordered his steps, ELORD also rendered his service to a small loving family-oriented church called Morning Glory Missionary Baptist Church, which merged with another church to become 12th Street Baptist Church.

Today, ELORD is Assistant Pastor at Divine Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, "Where the Presence, the Purpose and the Power of GOD Propel his People." When asked about the direction of his Music and Ministry, he had this to say: "God has been good to me and and my family -- better to me than I`ve been to myself. I always remember that God`s got a plan. This is His ministry, His music, His word, and my reasonable service. There is so much more to come - music, yes, but beyond that, in addition to that. However, as it relates to music, well I believe music is like a vehicle. It can take you to or from a place, a journey. We know that music stirs the soul, music can break your heart and make you smile, and it has made far too many angry and too few peaceful. Music can guide you or mislead you, so then what is our purpose in music? For me, for me and my house, it is to magnify the Lord, to lift Him up, to spread the good news. I may do it differently than you, but we are many members one body. ''THE BATTLE'' album is my testimony. ''THE BATTLE'' album is my life`s walk with the Lord. It`s not what I`ve heard, it`s what I`ve lived and know. Every song is exported from one of my sermons. It`s the living word of God. The songs have life to offer us. They have eternal value. They empower and educate. They guide and offer wisdom. They are also fun and danceable, smooth and edgy. ''THE BATTLE'' album deals with the whole man. From our anguish and pain to marriage and divorce, teen pregnancy and violence, addictions, prayer, love, and Christ`s return, trials and after-life. It`s all in there to help us, to lead us, to free us. You see, since the beginning of time there have been wars and rumors of wars. Mankind is engaged in a constant struggle, sometimes victorious, sometimes defeated, but never at rest, never at peace. Only one came with peace, only one offers peace and joy. Yet we resist and so we are our own greatest enemy. It has been said that my greatest enemy is my inner-me." "THIS IS THE BATTLE" (Eph 6:10-20)

''Somebody'', produced by Mavrick . Also available now by ELORD, ''You Ain`t Right,'' the first single from ''THE BATTLE'' album.
