Details:
Catchpenny is back with it’s second studio album. After spending 9 days recording “Chance for A Lifetime”, it went on to sell out 5 times in a year. The band knew they had eyes on them and the next disc had to be great.

“From Where You Are is a huge step forward for us. We didn’t really know what we were doing when we recorded the first album, but we’ve learned a lot over the past year and I think this record will reflect that.” Says Christian Schauf, singer and guitarist.

Michael Bland (Prince, Dixie Chicks, Soul Asylum) is again producing, and has taken Catchpenny under his tutelage. In addition to Bland, a few other big names have signed on to help the band. Phil Solem of the Rembrandts and “I’ll Be There For You” fame has been a constant co-writer for the group, and an A-List of musicians including Tommy Barbarella (Prince, Mandy Moore, Switchfoot), John Fields (Switchfoot, Backstreet Boys, Clay Aiken, Pink, Andrew WK, Evan and Jaron), Ken Chastain, Tommy Stinson (Guns and Roses, The Replacements, Soul Asylum) and Jimmy Anton (Johnny Lang) have had varying degrees of input on the new project.

The album features 13 tracks recorded over a year in Minneapolis. From Rock to Pop to Ballads, the album offers a variety of sounds, due to the fact that all 3 members contributed to the writing of this album, but across all the songs, Catchpenny’s trademark harmonies, guitar riffs and and lyrics make this an independent release with all the power of a major label record.

This record shows the growth that only comes from hundreds of shows a year, and putting your life into your craft. With songs already picked up for national ad campaigns and major motion pictures, this one is going to take them far, don’t miss a chance to check out one of the best independent releases of the year.
