I hate band bios, as a general rule, they are boring, and predictable.
The equation goes something like this:
S + APw + CDs + A = CRtBoW
Shows played + Artists Played with + CDs Sold + Adjectives Describing Music = Compelling Reason to Buy or Watch.
The thing is, is it''s music, and it doesn''t work that way.
What if we played a BILLION shows last year? Would that make us good? Above and beyond the fact that we either -created- time, or played infinitesimal shows, back to back to back, would it mean anything? It would say -nothing- about our quality.
What if we played with Paul Simon, Jay-Z, and we did a headlining tour with Bob Marley and/or The Doors? Sure, the ability to resurrect people makes for good conversation, but does it mean you''ll like our music? Or does it mean you''ll just ask for a favor?
Donald Trump could buy every CD that William Hung releases. Not trying to be negative, but I don''t know that that would make them great CDs. Even if they were described as amazing or original or [Madlib:Adjective]
At the end of the day, none of that means anything. We''re sharing music, not loose affiliations with other people, or the ability to move units. Just the ability to put notes and words together in a way that hopefully makes you want to reach over, turn up the volume, and sing until...well, until you can''t.
