This recording is his second solo release.
"Ad Astra Per Aspera" consists of a few classic traditionals, a new musical composition for Elizabeth Cotten''s "O Babe, It Ain''t No Lie" and some original songs that he has written while living in Oregon, Texas, and on the road.

Bingo is also known for his critically acclaimed 1998 debut release, "Hom", and for his work with Portland, Oregon psycho-bluegrass champions Golden Delicious. He is currently playing with country-rock ''rounders The Freak Mountain Ramblers, and The Prairie Dogs, a string band featuring Neil Gilpin. He has also appeared as a featured guest musician on recordings by: The Holy Modal Rounders, Peter Stampfel, Richmond Fontaine, Fernando, Pete Krebs, Little Sue, Lynn Conover, Jim Boyer, Lisa Miller and others.
