The end of the world is NOT near. The oil is NOT running out. The sky is NOT falling, and rock is NOT dead, not here in NYC. In fact, it''s time to get hope back - like when you heard that first song that made the hair stand up on your neck, gave you goosebumps. Bloodroot is going to do that to you. Their new CD release, DEEP, might make you shiver a little, and it will definitely get you excited about hard rock again.

There''s no mistaking the unbridled crunchiness of the guitars and the ferocious head-shaking drum beat of songs like Save Me, Into The Black, Into The Dawn and Dig. And yet, songs like Live For Tomorrow , Weighed Down and Survive run phat with a song craftsmanship that mixes melodic uniqueness with accomplished vocal harmony. Then, there are songs like Friend In Need, My Mistakes and DEEP, the title track of the new CD, in which Bloodroot brings such a naked sonic bombast that listeners can only wonder why this act isn''t headlining a tour yet. "They''re the best kept secret of the New York scene," said one club goer at a recent NYC show. Bloodroot''s LIVE show is so full of crackle, crunch and charisma that it rivals anything out there.

Bloodroot''s
first release, a self-titled EP, received substantial college radio airplay in the northeast and Midwest as well as rotation on the Music Choice rock station. Enough so that the band has toured the country a couple times in their favorite white Ford Econoline van.

"Bloodroot , a powerful, groove-laden quartet hailing from Brooklyn, NY, has come to take the hard music scene by storm. With a bottom end as low as a snake''s belly, backed by some killer fretwork and an overall hard rock power punch, this outfit has got the riffs, rhythms and rhymes to take care of all of your heavy business. There''s a plethora of influences here, from the grungy (Alice In Chains, BADMOTORFINGER-era Soundgarden) to the metallic (Helmet, Life Of Agony), which helps shape this band into a true rock machine, able to grind out at any given notice, but also displaying depth to go the extra mile." - Mike SOS - Americore Magazine

Bloodroot
is Johnny Young on lead vocal and guitars, Roman on bass and backing vocals, Doug Vannoni on guitars and backing vocals, and Ross Kantor - one of the best drummers out there. The band has been Johnny''s creation, which is now a collaboration in 4 parts.
