Ray Boyland, a native of Memphis, TN, is embedded with the soulful sounds of gospel, blues and jazz. He shares a list of talented musicians such as Kirk Whalum, Ben Tankard, Phil Driscoll, Allen & Allen and many others, that are catapulting "inspirational music" to another level.
Ray comes from a family of talent on both his mother and father''s side. Inspired by the bluesy and soulful sounds of his dad''s harmonica and guitar, he developed a distinct love for music at the age of 11.
Ray Boyland is no newcomer to the music scene. He has been playing professionally since he was 15 years old. In the mid 80''s as a member of an all brass ensemble out of Memphis called the "The Magnificent Sanctuary Band", he played on several live recordings with Savoy Records. Ray has also shared the stage with such artist as Al Green, Jerry Butler, Tramaine Hawkins, Karen Clark-Sheard, Wendy Moten, and O''landa Draper to name a few.
In 1992, Ray moved to Atlanta, GA, to further his musical career. He''s been blessed to work with such notables as Bishop James Morton, playwright Tyler Perry and gospel guru, Dr. Bobby Jones.
Ray''s debut CD "Because of You" was released in 2000, and contains soulful songs that were inspirational to him as a child. After nearly four years, Ray is excited about his latest CD entitled "Reflections."
