Bridget was interviewed by Visit Black Chicago; below is an excerpt from the interview:
"My journey is unique in two distinct ways; (1) in the choices I have made for my life and (2) having the courage to take full accountability for my choices. I started documenting my life''s journey at age 9; I read a lot as a kid and I still do as an adult because when I read, I am the consummate traveler and adventurer and I feel it is writing that lifts you from your present to your past, present and future which is powerful. The examples I had as great African American women writers and poets were Gwendolyn Brooks, Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni and Toni Morrison. I was inspired by them to be honest in my writing and not being fearful to say what I felt needed to be said and to say it proudly."
