Church Cats Music is an independent record label dedicated to glorifying God with every lyric and every beat. Based in Yorktown, VA, the label is owned and operated by three young men-Brandon Hall, Brandon Randall, and Reese Washington Jr.-who actually write, produce, and perform over 98% of the label''s compositions. Blending rap, traditional gospel, and contemporary gospel, Church Cats Music has already started making waves in the Hampton Roads area.
Presently, the label is promoting its first project, a 13-track CD entitled, "God''s Child." We are currently soliciting radio stations and distributors who will give us an opportunity to share our music with a larger audience. We believe in the CD, and we know that it has the power to impact someone''s life because God''s fingerprints are on every track. "God''s Child" touches on many topics including love, praise, sin, holiness, and, of course, Christ. It will inspire the downtrodden and will easily create an atmosphere of praise and worship for any believer with a pulse.
The CD showcases Brandon Randall, whose stage name is B. Randall. Brandon is a gifted lyricist who began meddling with rap as a college sophomore. Four years later, he is now very serious about his craft and is totally committed to being a mouthpiece for Christ. A standout college basketball player and valedictorian of his college class, Brandon has put down the rock to proclaim The Rock, while using his intellectual gifts to break down God''s word using modern day language and metaphors. He currently resides in Yorktown, VA with his wife, Monique, and his daughter, Amari.
While Brandon Randall is the headliner for the label''s debut CD, Reese Washington appears throughout the CD as well. He is a talented vocalist whom one will hear more of on the next release. He was born and raised in Richmond, VA, and he has an amazing testimony. A son of a minister, Reese grew up in the church but got caught up in the street life, selling drugs as a teenager. Like the prodigal son, he ultimately left his wild lifestyle and rededicated himself back to the Lord, attending seminary and joining the Army Reserves. He just recently returned from duty in Iraq and is now working as a carpenter in Hampton.
The third wheel of the tricycle is Brandon Hall. A 2005 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in Biology, Brandon knows the anatomy of good music. He produced one track on the CD, but more production credits are coming his way soon. Brandon has been producing music since 2002, when he started making beats for fun, but what started as a hobby has become a passion. A native of Baltimore, MD, Brandon brings a tenacity and enthusiasm for music that can be felt in all of his compositions. He undoubtedly has music making down to a science.
Ultimately, three brothers-in-Christ have joined together to lift up the name of Jesus. "God''s Child" is their first offering to Him. And their goal is to get any and every person they can to hear what God has planted in their spirits.
