Cameras and Notebooks:

Born in December of 1984, songwriter Eric Brengle has developed a style to all his own through blending of the greats. Growing up listening to the sounds of singer/songwriters such as James Taylor, Aztec Two-Step, and many more allowed him to hear excellent songwriters in action.

"A song like ''New Years'' has James Taylor''s guitar style written all over it," he says, "At the same time I had to find away to make the track my own, so I looked for another angle to come from and the result speaks for itself."

Playing solo for the past two years, Eric quickly realized that four chord pop songs, although fun to play, were not going to hold the attention of listeners. Relying once again on his influences, he began to surround his music with hints of Clapton, Hendrix, and many more guitar heroes.

Incorporating the elements learned from hearing good songwriters and melody lines, Eric began to combine all of the elements together and the result was, "Version of Yourself". A song whose signature guitar lines and crisp vocals give it a memorably that''s difficult to overlook.

While guitar influences are prevalent on Eric''s songs, one cannot forget the incredible vocal presence on his work. Growing up Eric was always singing. Whether it was singing along with the radio or in the several choirs during his school years, his voice was always present.

"Singing was never something I ever had to think about. I would simply find something I liked and then try to emulate it. Whether it was Ferris Bueler belting out The Beatles on a float or a song on the radio I would learn it, it really didn''t matter what it was," he says.

The cozy living room feel of "Home" provides the disc with diversity, while still incorporating Eric''s ability to construct detailed images through his lyrics.

"The pre-chorus of "Home" is one of my favorites," he continues, "Every time I play it, I go straight to watching a movie in my living room, fighting my dogs for space on the couch. The best part about it though is that people can see and understand that honesty."

After playing for years whenever and with whomever he could, Eric decided in spring of 2004 to hit the recording studio. The result was a cleverly constructed solid batch of songs guaranteed to grab listeners.

The Cameras and Notebooks E.P. is the first of two releases that will take place in the next few months. Be sure to look for the full album release in the late spring of 2005. For updates on touring information and news check out https://www.tradebit.com.
