Acoustic Based Rock

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock

Details:
Brandon McHose has established himself amongst the elite musicians in the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas. Originally from the Midwest, he was convinced to move to Austin in 2005 after an audition for David Peckham, Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department, at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

It would be difficult to label his music in a singular genre, but there’s definitely enough blues/rock influence in him to make him feel comfortable in this legendary music city. Brandon has a strong base in blues/rock guitar, but has crossed over into many styles ranging from the hot and sticky delta blues to such contemporary legends as Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Brad Paisley and John Fogerty. Brandon considers himself a contemporary blues/alternative rock writer with a little country thrown in for good measure.

Since the age of 16, he has been writing and trying to perfect his own songs. “Many of the songs I wrote in the past continue to evolve as I grow as an artist and Austin has been a catalyst for much of that change.” Early on it was Brandon’s ambition to be a studio guitarist however that would change after a few years.

Finally he decided that what he really wanted was a solo career. “I always felt more like a guitarist than a singer, but once I started writing my own music, I could never imagine anyone else singing it, so I began taking my singing more seriously.” In early 2006 Brandon went in the studio with Chris Maresh , and drummer, Tommy Taylor (Eric Johnson). They both took parts in “Just for Me” and “10 Seconds” on the “All in A Days Work” demo CD. The songs were recorded at Wire Studios in one day under the brilliant engineering of Stuart Sullivan, who has produced triple platinum records for Sublime and the Meat Puppets. Brandon has also played live on the #1 morning radio show in Austin (KLBJ) with the performance of “Side I Used to Be” back in October 05’.

Having established himself at Austin’s finest live music venues, Brandon and his band plan to tour the Midwest in late summer to follow up the release of his new full length album. The new recording features such legends as Riley Osborne (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lyle Lovett) on Keyboards and Piano, Grammy nominated Chris Maresh on bass along with Tommy Taylor on drums and Stuart Sullivan as engineer.
