Drew is a day-dreamer and late-sleeper. He is a doodler and entrepreneur. He also makes music, lots of music: cigarette-butts-in-Chinese-food, insomniac, vodka-breathe, bedroom-pop music. Late at night, he draws graffiti of dead TV''s. He is scrappy and young, and moved to NYC from Philadelphia to pursue the momentum behind his snowballing world of doodles, films, and songs. He currently resides on the Lower East Side where he plays shows regularly and survives on a diet of tuna and spaghetti.

"Having seen Drew play solo before at a Folk You! show and being blown away by his performance, I had high expectations of this new EP by him (under his largely one man band name of Drew & The Medicinal Pen), and I am happy to say I was not let down. At times reminding me of Rhett Miller''s solo albums, "dream, dream, fail, repeat", has an interesting mix of upbeat folk-rock songs, that are more rock then they are folk, and some mellower songs, each song leading in and out of one another in a perfectly entwined lucid dream-like musical landscape. But what''s hard to miss about this album is it''s infectiousness. "Hole in my sail" includes a clap along beat that is hard to not clap along to, "a city was born" contains a catchy little whistling part that I found myself whistling along to, and other songs contain sing along parts like "oh-oh-oo-oh", and "ba-ba-ba".

"Drew is a real renaissance kind of guy. I first got into contact with him last summer when he was interning for Rooftop Films and he was pimping the fest around the web. Now he’s working freelance audio-tech for them.
But, more importantly, Drew is both a filmmaker himself and a musician. His first, self-released EP dream, dream, fail, repeat is available now off of which I’ve heard a few tracks. I’m no music critic, but I really like Drew’s brand of catchy, low-fi pop songs. Kind of like a more upbeat Elliot Smith and songs that would go great on a Wes Anderson soundtrack."
