NEW AGE: Healing, CLASSICAL: Contemporary
Edward Croce was born, in Washington, D.C., in December of 1967. His family moved to Minnesota six months later and he grew up in the Mankato area. Edward began Suzuki piano at the age of 5 and began formal lessons at the age of 9. He began to learn the viola and stringed instruments in the 4th grade. The guitar was in his hands by his 15th birthday. He participated in the Mankato Youth Symphony as 2nd chair viola. Edward began his composing career during his senior year in high school.
The New Music Network was part of Ed’s music experiences. Performing over 10 works through this unique forum allowed Edward to express his creativity to the public. His formal education was at Minnesota State University - Mankato and included Music Theory I & II, Literature and History of Music, Music Composition, Arrangement and Orchestration.
In 2000, Ed finished a music program that earned him an Audio Engineering Degree from The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences, in Tempe, AZ. There he studied audio recording & production, music business, analog & computer based recording, sound reinforcement, troubleshooting and theory. After a brief internship, at Blue Music Sound and Design, Ed returned to his, Southern Minnesota, hobby farm. He now had the ability to compose and record in his own studio, which he called Croce Productions.
Croce Productions was started in April of 1996. This company packages several audio services and expands each time Croce learns another profession. He is currently offering remote recording, original compositions, PA, lighting and DJ services. He has written and produced his first CD, Above The Sky.
Another aspect of Croce is his enjoyment of passing on knowledge. He began teaching his friends to play guitar, and teaching willing students new songs as soon as he learned them. Ed taught music at RiverBend Academy in Mankato, from 2002 until 2005., having obtained a license as a Community Expert, in the state of Minnesota. He also helped Minnesota New Country School, in Henderson, MN, learn how to use their recording studio and has done Artist-in-Residencies at Northern Lights Charter School , in Warba, MN and Voyageur Expeditionary High School, in Bemidji, MN.
