My name is Erin McCamley. I’m 18 years old. I’ve been creating music since I learned how to talk. I started writing music with piano and lyrics when I was eight, and wrote my first complete song (that I actually liked) when I was 13. I took piano lessons from first to third grade, and then I quit because I “didn’t like playing what was in the books.” I only enjoyed playing my own songs. I''ve been a performer my whole life; since the age of six, I have been in school, community, and professional theatre productions. I’ve played roles that range from Belle in Beauty and the Beast to Rumpelstiltskin in Rumpelstiltskin. Acting, singing, and dancing are all strong passions of mine.
First and foremost though, I consider myself a singer-songwriter. My piano is my best and most reliable friend. I write songs because it gives me a release; a creative outlet for all my emotions. I also write music because I love affecting people--I want to reach out and let them know they aren’t alone. Audiences and friends tell me all the time that my songs are easy to relate to because they stem from true experiences and raw, honest feelings.
I’ve written more than 65 songs in the past three years. I’ve put about 40 of them on different CDs that I recorded on my home recording studio. From this past March to August, I recorded my first professional CD, called "Luminous," at Group Effort Studios. It was an amazing experience, and although it took a lot of time and effort, it was entirely worth it. I''m selling Luminous around Cincinnati in select bookstores and on CD Baby and iTunes.
I want to tell people they aren''t alone, that I have experienced what they have, and I know how they feel.
