In todays music theres alot of controversy on what defines a true hiphop/rap arist, whether its the lyrics ,the voice,or the knowledge behind the music. One artists seems to fill the gaps for all three categories. His name is Fitted. Gregory Artavis Caldwell, born Gregory Pugh (08/17/87) recieved his alias from being the owner of lots of hats and practically switching styles everyday. His a.k.a name is upnorthbully and he recieved that from his attitude and court savy on the basketball court. Born in westpalm beach, Florida and raised half his life in upstate albany,Newyork the young talent never really knew his real father and was adopted at the age of 14. His life time dream was to go play college basketball, but numerous fights, and run ins with the police slowly took his dream away. "If i knew what i know now, i think i would have did things over again". Aside from highschool and sports his real passion was hiphop and performing the likes of other peoples music. He fell in love with rap music in the 10th grade and has been doing it eversince "I just love the rush you get from being on stage, and being the center of attention". Fitted spent alot of time and effort developing his craft. Hes a very determined and dedicated artist. He doesent have the backing of a major record label, but still manages to be known by promoting his self, and selling his cd''s out of his trunk and back pack, at school, the mall, or in the streets "People can be pushed away from a goal if there heart isn''t into it. "I love music so much, and its almost impossible for other artists/listeners not to feel me". Towards the
end of his highschool career he got his head on straight, and attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, Newyork were he is currently studying physical education. "I feel alot better knowing that if all else fails , I still have a degree to run home to. I guess you could say its my backup plan". In a marketplace were knowledge is everything, this smart individual has studied it down to a science and is making his place in this world of music "knowledge is everything, and without it your no better than the kid who would rather work 9to5 than get an education". He steadily works with his group Tracksuspectz and together they have compiled numerous Cd''s, and have sold them nation wide. "I grew up with these guys, so were real comftorable around each other and even though were all solo artists we collaborate and perform together most of the time". Fitted is unlike any hiphop artists you''ve heard before and is going no were soon. Hes multitalented being a rapper/songwriter/engineer/and producer. (what more could you ask for). He rarley leaves his studio which is in his basement unless he has to go to school.
