This is Australian band Gethsemane whose latest EP, titled No One, provides an unrestricted view into the soul . Powered by the rhythm section of drummer Luke Fowler and outstanding bassist Keaton Tait the sound is glued together by the layered guitar work of Matty Bourne and wrapped in the compelling vocal of singer Mat Beltran.
The end result, evidenced on the new EP, is a sound that defies direct comparisons but clearly is built on solid songwriting.
The EP was recorded in Perth at the WIIG Factory sound studio in late 2006 and was produced by Neville R Dowling.
Gethsemane are currently touring heavily on the east coast of Australia, supporting the release. They plan to enter the studio again in late 2007 to record an album prior to embarking on their first trip to the US.
