Brandon Shepard is an incredibly talented, singer, songwriter, actor and creative writer, currently residing in the Bradshaw Mountains in Arizona USA. Inspired at an early age by the music stylings of country artists like Chet Atkins, Ricky Skaggs and Steve Warner and impressed by the technically intricate and often theatrically dramatic performances of rock bands like Dokken, Kiss and Led Zeppelin, formed Brandon''s unusual style of songwriting and influenced the high energy feeling you will experience when listening to his original country music. Brandon not only writes the lyrics for his songs, he also writes the instrumentals. His songs echo in your mind for days after hearing them, the lyrics are catchy and the songs rhythmically, make you get up off your chair or at the very least, tap your foot. Whether you are male or female, young or older, you will find them easy to relate to and love listening to them over and over again. When asked what drives his style of song writing he responded humbly.
"When writing a song, I feel it is vital to get a rough recording of it almost immediately, in order to guarantee that I am sure to capture the song while it is fresh in my mind. Artists are almost controlled by their art, and because of this, it may be 2:00 am when I get an idea for a new song, on occasion I have even been inspired to write in my sleep. No matter what time it is when the inspiration hits, I begin by recording at least the guitar and vocals, and typically complete the song within a week or two."
The next thing he said made me laugh, he said.
"It''s always fun when I stumble across a recording of a song that I started months ago and forgot about, it''s kind of like finding that twenty dollar bill in your old jeans on laundry day!"
Brandon is being modest by not describing how involved he is in the development of his music. He oversees every aspect of the song''s development which I am sure is one of the main ingredients for his unique sound. He goes on by saying.
"I have to believe in or care about the lyrics I write. I either write songs to make people laugh and smile or songs that come from the heart. In either case, my goal when writing is simply to give the listener something to enjoy."
He most certainly has achieved that with his music. It is a pleasure to listen to his humorous songs and to be moved by the heart-felt ones. The only way to see how you will be affected by his music is to pick up a CD or download them and hear for yourself.
