Details:
My songwriting began when I heard the music to the song, Take Hold, included on my CD. The guitar & piano were so beautiful, I felt inspired to write. Then, in the summer of 2005, I couldn’t stop writing…and the CD, Without You, began.

Each song was born with a chord. Then the words would come. Then I would play my song for Paul, in his living room, and he would help me arrange it. Then I realized I wanted to record a CD of all the songs I’d written; and Paul helped me do just that, and brought all my songs to life in a way I never imagined possible…the CD, Without You.

Some of Austin''s finest musicians participated in the making of this CD, including, Cindy Cashdollar, Mike Cross, Mike Elam, James Fenner, Rob Forkner, Elana James, E.J. Jones, Art Kidd, Tom Lewis, Rick McRae, David Perkoff, Larry Rone, Michael Shay, Billy Wolfe, and Paul M. Wright. The CD was recorded at Murray Music and Cedar Creek Recording Studio and produced by Paul M. Wright.

The song, Without You, came from a place of great indecision about an important choice I had to make. Jack and Me is a song I wrote for my niece, who moved away from home for the first time, with her cat, Jack. Like I Am You is about broken hearts and dreams. You Wanna Say is about what really matters. Holiday Song is about the deep-seated comfort one must feel who has that special someone to share the seasons with. Trouble Moving On is about just that. Chinaberry Tree is about filling the empty place. Carry the Grief is about infertility. Take Hold is about listening to the whisper within yourself, whatever your dream may be. Make Believe is about the fantasy of lasting love. Haven’t We is about memories in my closet. I wrote the song, I Take You, for my nephew when I heard he was getting married. It’s about sharing your heart. Tour of Duty is a war ballad about the consequences of war. I was sitting in my living room one day feeling scared about our nation’s involvement in war and wrote this song. I support our troops, not because I agree with the war they are fighting, but because they are choosing to fight for me. The last song on the CD, I’m Here, is about letting go at the end of life, and was inspired by Christine Albert’s Swan Songs.

Without You is worth a listen.
