Details:
I had heard his music and was captivated by its magical rhythm and its relentless lyrics, which seemed directed to me. I yearned to speak directly to this tremendously gifted young singer and to discover what fuels the intense fire that burns deeply within his heart. I was therefore appreciative when, in response to my request, he gave me the opportunity to interview him in his state-of-the-art studio. He is a down to earth person, and he spoke with earnestness and sincerity, his speech reflecting the strong vibrant person that he is. He and his brothers, Dapper Don, and Culture Don, are all devoted and caring family men, who believe that family is of central importance. They are also
singers and entertainers who are on the road very often. If you were to judge by the wealth and luxury that surrounds them, you would pick up no hint that once things were decidedly different. They were all born in Belize, a beautiful tropical country in Central America. As young kids they had very little materially, but they had a mother and father whose love and tireless care provided an anchor when the storms of life bore down on them; and this love brought them out intact. Thus they grew having a healthy self respect for their lives. And you will hear them speak with profound respect of their father whom they regard as one of the best and wisest teachers.

Adversity affects men differently. Men like Nenjah are of the rarer kind: like all men they experience the almost unendurable pain that adversity brings and sometimes they may even ask for help. Unlike other men they are not broken. After having endured poverty and deprivation, he emerged a person reborn, one who knows himself, his weaknesses and strength, and his greater compassion and understanding for those who may be troubled. Like the best steel, which is forged in the flame, Nenjah emerged a strong and wise person. He had walked through the badlands, had been in gangs; he and his brothers all knew the streets. But the time came he said, when he
had to make a decision: he decided to take the highway instead of the low. He would now use his abilities and talents in the service of people, to teach and to entertain. He had a message that he wanted to give to the world but he would tell that message in rapturous music that would enthrall its listeners.
