MP3 The Rivercity Revelators - Red Flag
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, ROCK: Rockabilly
Without a doubt, the Rivercity Revelators are a force to be reckoned with. With Dez Poirier on guitar and yelling, Bryce Lawrence on bass, Kasey Rausch on banjo, Nick Baker on drums, and Brandon Curtis doubling guitar, a massive wave of rip-snorting boogie shakes hips from here to there. Wild licks, guitar tricks, back-breaking drums, thumping bass, and....banjo and horns? What? This group is undeniably a bunch of rockers, but its influences range from the Clash, to the Stray Cats, and Merle Haggard. This is not to say that they are a confusing bunch of mismatched jammers with pointy guitars, however....When you witness the Revelators, you get one thing: a Revelation. You get it good. You get rock, straight from the roots.....all the way from Chuck Berry to the seminal Los Angeles band X, and you get the roll, from Son House, Eddie Cochran, and Hank Williams.....The original material of this band reflects jazz, blues, rockabilly, and traditional country with an extra jolt of voltage thrown in for good measure. With songs about broken hearts, broken strings, and tornadoes, this Revelation is a living thing which speaks of its life lived. Drawing on experience, not emulation, Desmond and his band have fashioned untold numbers of songs based on authentic adventure and misadventure. After time spent drifting between all members, in Rhode Island, Texas, California, and dozens of other locales in this big zoo called the USA, these people have a lot to say. It has taken Desmond at least 10 years to find his fellow pirates in arms. A challenge it was, attempting to find individuals who could groove on a barnyard stomp as well as an old school Iron Maiden gallop. Universally, the Revelator''s audience is drawn to their energy, as well as their excellent songs and imagination. The fervour, drive, and dedication to wring every last note of its very soul is fast becoming noticed. This band is a group of professionals....artists that share a responsibility: to entertain their audience, whoever and however, and preferably with a blazing trail of rock and roll in the nighttime sky. Straight from the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, this music has tattoos, asphalt, and tambourines....good times, bad times, and honest to goodness old-tyme showmanship....Ladies, and Gentleman, and Otherwise, the Rivercity Revelators.....
