Details:
I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but I''ve lived in Texas most of my life. I took piano, drum, and guitar lessons as a child. I became a guitar fanatic, and haven''t stopped since. I was in several bands while in college (I graduated with Bachelor''s degrees in History and English from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas) and played mostly in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. The band I work with now has been playing Southwest Texas for a number of years; we''ve released two live CD''s of R&B, blues, & classic rock material, most of it cover songs. This new CD, "Songs of Women, Guns, & Booze," is a collection of 12 original songs I wrote and recorded. The songs were also featured on soundtrack of the independent movie "Road to El Paso" (https://www.tradebit.com). Besides myself (vocals, guitars, sequencing), the additional musicians who contributed are Mark Ramsey (keyboards), Uel Jackson (bass), Pete Denney (harmonica, guitar), Philip Stevens (guitar), and Bobby Luna (guitar). The album was mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio in Austin, Texas.
I''m big into the classic songwriters: Neil Young, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan - but there''s a lot of new stuff I really like, too. There are too many influences for me to narrow down to a short list, but a few would be, other than those already mentioned: Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, Credence Clearwater Revival, Elvis, Slayer, Pantera, Stevie Ray Vaughn, early Van Halen, Celtic Frost, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
