Details:
Scott Silipigni is pleased to release his second full-length album, Carriage House Chronicles (Kawari Records). Produced by band member Adam Winokur (bass) with Scott, Carriage House Chronicles is the follow-up to Scott’s Simple View (2004). Scott left his corporate job shortly before the release of Simple View to pursue a full-time music career. Since then he has continued to write and record his own material, perform live with his band, the Scott Silipigni Band, and write and produce songs with Scott Bricklin (Bricklin, Martin’s Dam, 4 Way St.) for various artists.

The birth of Carriage House Chronicles came when Scott asked Adam Winokur (producer, engineer, and musician) to join his band in September 2005. The musical bond came quickly between the two, as did the songs that make up CHC. Over the period of a year and half, Scott and Adam, along with band members Jake Carlin (electric guitar, lap steel) and Matt Muir (drums, background vocals, percussion), cut almost thirty tracks with many varying styles and feel. “As we spent time on each song it became apparent which songs would make the final cut down to 11. There are plenty of songs that didn’t make CHC and we will revisit them for future projects, because I do believe in them,” says Scott.

Keeping the spirit of Simple View, the band called upon their many musical friends in the Philadelphia community to be a part of CHC. “When we were ironing out the songs, we could hear our friends in specific parts,” says Scott. “For example, ‘Jim (Boggia) could add an amazing harmony on this, or Ben (Arnold) could play a great piano melody on that’, and so on. Fortunately for us, everyone who we asked to play obliged.”

The band brought on some new musicians who had not played on Simple View, and they added some interesting elements to CHC. Zach Djanikian and Adam Flicker (both of The Brakes) played horns on the track “San Francisco”, giving the song a very New Orleans feel. Zach and Scott duet on the very pretty “Love Letter”, reminiscent of a lost song from the Sixties.

Carriage House Chronicles is the debut release for Kawari Records, and it was recorded at Kawari Studios. Kawari founder Karl Rieders owns and operates the label and studio. The studio, a carriage house to a beautiful property in Wyncote, PA, is the inspiration for the title of the record.

The Scott Silipigni band will be touring in 2007 to support the release of Carriage House Chronicles.
