MP3 The Whiskey Saints - The Bootleg EP

Alt-country troubadours The Whiskey Saints cover their roots and then some with their 2007 release The Bootleg EP. Blending in elements of classic country music with rock and acoustic folk, this record is a welcomed introduction for the band.

6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, COUNTRY: Country Rock

Details:
Back some years ago, Hank Williams faked his own death to start a secret side project that involved Brian Wilson, John Lennon, Jimmy Page, Neil Young, a young Morrissey, and a few indie rock musicians that time traveled from the 90s. They wrote quite a few great songs, and sadly never got a chance to release them due to the disco craze that soon followed. However, we recently discovered this material in a vault buried here in Los Angeles -- this music was a major inspiration for our band. We only listen to good modern country, love the power of a well-written song, and our guitarist seems to think that he''s a reincarnated Fred ''Sonic'' Smith. Either way, we''re a rock band, play folk/country songs brought together by traditional acoustic instruments and saturated electric guitar.

The Whiskey Saints are a four-piece rock/alt-country band based out of Los Angeles. The group is composed of singer/guitarist David Sparrow (formerly of The Hank from Baltimore, Maryland), guitarist/vocalist David Bloomfield (formerly of The Electric Pie Band and Lurgee in Chico, California), drummer Jeff Bell (formerly part of the prolific Los Angeles based Alt-Country outfit Hawkeye), and recent addition Rob Hughes on bass.
