Rochelle L Bucher
Rochelle grew up in Indianapolis, IN the oldest of two daughters. Although she didn''t sing professionally until after college, she always had a spirit for creating music and entertaining. She learned to play the piano at age 7 and it became a way for her to express her deepest passions and emotions. She had an irresistible knack for performing and was always able to draw those around her into her creative world.
It wasn''t until after graduating from college and moving to Chicago that she began to really believe she could do something with her love for music. In 1996, she started vocal and guitar lessons. She also auditioned for lead vocalist with Stone Grove, an alternative rock band. While singing with Stone Grove she composed melodies and lyrics for the band''s original music.
In 1997, she moved to Bloomington and joined the folk/pop band Louis Drive. She added to their original music using her dynamic vocals and vital harmonies.
In 2002, Rochelle began to play music with guitarist/songwriter Kevin Sifferlen. Many say her music is reminiscent of Alison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan, and Patty Griffin. The stories she tells are intricate, passionate, and move one''s spirit to a higher place of understanding. She writes from a wounded heart that seems to have experienced pain well beyond her years. Her song "All You Never Gave" reaches to the depths of personal sorrow as she recalls the anguish of losing someone you love. True to her character, she writes openly and honestly about all moments in her life, good and bad. In "Amaze Me" she relays the intense gratitude felt upon finding someone to trust with her deepest desires. Her songs will leave you intensely moved and wanting for more....
