The year was 2004. Adam Luksetich and Steve Bennet -- who have been playing in bands together since junior high and had recently been members of a band called International Waters -- found themselves looking for a new project through which they might channel their desire to "create music" . . . or something. Having obtained a new practice space in the form of what was once a meth lab in Hills, Iowa, Adam and Steve set out on the task of writing new material. At this point, Kevin Koppes -- a long-time friend of Adam and Steve''s -- was invited out to "jam" on the new tunes. While Kevin had never "technically" been in a band before, Kevin and Adam had worked on a number of random film projects together, and the three (all born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa) had previously shared the stage for the one (and only) performance given by a band called Mike Tyson''s Donkey-Punch-Out. Practices became more frequent, shows started being booked, and The Tanks were born. Since that time, The Tanks have self-released a CDEP dubbed Pull the Trigger, Bear, played a number of shows across the Midwest, and are currently in the process of assembling material for a release on Floodwater Records. They''ve also been lucky enough to share the stage with a number of their favorite bands, including Detachment Kit, Call Me Lightning, Tight Phantomz, Signal to Trust, Ricky Fitts, William Elliott Whitmore, Japanther, DMBQ, GoGoGo Airheart and many others. A full-scale tour is planned for Summer ''06 in support of the new album
