COUNTRY: Country Blues, COUNTRY: Bluegrass

Details:
Ray made his first singing debut at the age of 5, at Shenandoah Heights Elementary School. He sang "The Bells of Saint Mary" for a Parent-Teacher program and received the first of many standing ovations. I can still remember the tears in mom''s eyes as she proudly hugged him afterwards.

Gospel music was a huge influence in Ray''s life. Mom, dad and the 4 of us siblings sang as a gospel group and were known as "The Fisher Family". The pure sounds of voices blending in harmony could be heard every Sunday afternoon, and at numerous church revival services all over the valley.

In high school, Ray auditioned for the school''s prestigious concert choir and was selected for the tenor section. The highlight of singing with this choir was a trip to perform in New York.

After graduation Ray enlisted in the army and later married. When he was stationed in Germany he had the privilege of singing in the 7th Corp. Army Division and was awarded his 1st Bronze medal in Europe, with his gospel rendition of "How Great Thou Art". Upon completion of his overseas tour, he was promoted to Staff Sargent and eventually moved once again to his beloved valley.

Ray and his sisters formed a gospel group "The Sweet Victory Gospel Trio" where they sang in local churches, fund-raisers, and especially for the Special Olympics.

Music has always been a huge part of Ray''s life and this CD is an accumulation of original songs that he has written over the year''s. One of my favorite''s is "I May Not Be A Preacher" , and I was honored to sing backup with him on this song.

The stage name "Allan Ray" is in memory of his deceased father-in-law. Ray would like to make mention of a very special lady in his life. Her name is Sylvia Stewart, and she was a wonderful mother-in-law, however he called her "mama". She has always encouraged him to follow his dreams. She also made him promise her that should she die before he makes it to the Grand Ole Opry, that he saves her a front row seat, she''ll be there. "I know my son can make it and so will I," she said.

In conclusion Ray lives his life on four principles. God, family, friends, and most of all Love, without these you have nothing. He loves to make people laugh and says there is to much sadness in this world already.
