“Blue Lightning” is a folk rock band based out of Portland, Oregon. Featuring skilled musicianship and carefully crafted original songs the band’s influences range from Bob Dylan to The Cowboy Junkies. With elements of folk, rock-a-billy, Irish and blues styles in the mix the band has created a unique sound using violin as the lead instrument.
They have performed throughout the Pacific Northwest. Their first CD “Maestro in the Jam” has received positive reviews, with local as well as national radio airplay.
Their music has been featured on the “Bob Dylan Radio Hour” on the Sirius Satellite Network and as well they have appeared on the nationally syndicated radio program “River City Folk.” The program is heard weekly on more than 200 public radio stations across the U.S. and the XM Satellite Network.
Their second CD “Live at the Aladdin Theater” in Portland, Oregon was released in May, 2007.
