DAVID PEACHEY -BIOGRAPHY

Hailing from Brisbane, SoloSingerSongriter David Peachey steps onstage armed with only a guitar, rocking out with a diverse range of genres and styles that sit easily upon his acoustic folk-classical foundations.

Skilfully matching his musicianship with powerful lyrics, David creates evocative stories that touch deep into human emotions and experiences.

A fiercely independent, self-taught and versatile musician, David writes, composes and arranges all his own music, playing most of the instruments heard on his CDs. David''s recordings transcend his live guitar-and-voice style, often employing classical or ethnic instruments such as cello, berimbau and bodhran.

In 1998 he released his first EP, "Saving Up for a Rainy Babe", which was followed in 2003 by his debut album "Thrasody". Two European hiatuses during the production of Thrasody helped inspire his latest CD, "Bloemenraad" released in late 2006. Currently, David is working on his next two CD releases.

Aside from the Australian radio stations already familiar with his music, David has also gained radio play in both North and South America, as well as Asia and several European countries.

THRASODY-
David Peachey''s debut album "Thrasody" consists of 10 tracks extending his Dark Pop-Folk style with even more depth and diversity. Slowly recorded over a 3-year period (delayed by 2 European hiatuses), Thrasody arose from a pool of about 15 new songs, eventually forming itself into the complete album.

"Thrasody" means brazen song, taken from the greek words thrasus (insolent) and ode (song)." explains David. "The first CD, Saving Up..., was constructed from songs that live audiences found most appealing."

"In contrast, Thrasody is more thematic, generally sharper and more bitter - these are the group of ''darker-minded'' songs. At times they seem very sweet or mellow but the underlying edge is always there."

--"David peachey’s songs often have the feeling of recognisable melodies, and are arranged with tasteful ideas of arrangements... rather enjoyable..." (Gerald Van Waes, Psyche Van Het Folk, Belgium)
