I decided to write these children''s songs because the music has always been in my head and as a music teacher I was tired of all the new children''s music coming out that was loaded with rock and rap and in inappropriate keys and inappropriate ranges for the children to sing in properly. Children are exposed to rock, rap and other such venues on a daily basis. To fully develop a young child''s mind many venues should presented, not just the pop culture. Pop culture does not stimulate a young child''s brain in a nurturing and developmentally sound way. The songs on my CD also encourage children to get up and move. In today''s society it is extremely important for children to get as much exercise as possible. In creating this CD I hoped to encourage mental as well as physical development in a fun way.
