Head Held High is a power rock trio from Davenport, IA. Refusing to be classified as anything but a rock band, their distinctive sound deserves to be heard. Jeff Loder, the band’s front man and guitarist comes from a rich musical background, and is a second generation performer. From a gentle whisper to a snarling shout in a second, his vocals are melodic and fresh. Kyle Jecklin, bass, has done everything from playing for hardcore rockers Dichotomatic, to promoting local music. Chris “Fish” Archer is a classically and jazz trained percussionist that brings everything together. They are like nothing else on the stage today. Their first E.P., “Fade,” was well received and their single “Breathe” was played on several regional radio stations and as far as New York state. With their new CD, their first full length, the band has truly come full circle. This, their first recording since 2002, has been a long time coming. It is a wonderful representation of the band itself, sometimes light hearted and fun, others serious and dramatic. This is an album that you do not want to miss.
