Minister Javier Dykes, a native of Columbia, South Carolina, who began his career in music at the age of five, has a vast experience in choir direction, vocal training, producing, song writing and is responsible for musical arrangements for several songwriters and artists.
During the mid-80’s Javier, along with his brother Andru Dykes (also an accomplished songwriter and musician), decided that their musical abilities could not just be limited to themselves. Together, they decided to form a gospel singing group. In order for them to concentrate on song writing and musical arrangements, they enlisted the help of singer/choir director/vocal coach, John Heyward, Director of Music for Reid Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Throughout the years, God has allowed Javier Dykes & Fellowship of Prāz to minister the gospel through song to a wide array of people. After years of fasting and praying, God said that it was time to release this project.
When listening to this project, you will be taken to a place when church was “churchy”. From lifting your hands in an ultimate praise with the title cut, Hallelujah Praise to the “down-home” foot stomping of I Can’t Forget, Javier Dykes & Fellowship of Prāz will have your attention focused on God.
