Fringe-living wishers. Part-timers. Audio/Visual executioners. Sensitive fanatics.

Based deep in some left hip pocket of the Northeast, JP05 comets through small rooms with a soaring melodic distortion that implements the mystique of classic guitar rock imbued with a down to earth sensibility.

Loud. Quiet. Steady. Fierce.

JP05 started as a nickname which came from a merch design simulating a campaign button just after the 2004 election. Jeff Patlingrao was living in Los Angeles playing drums in THE DESTRUCTORS, and the Red Sox had just won the world series.

It was a brief but necessary 10 month long stay in Los Angeles following his graduation from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. In that time, Jeff helped build Underdog Studios, a semi-professional recording facility in Van Nuys, with longtime friend, Bill Bennett (of Heard). It was at Underdog where Jeff completed the JP05 full-length debut, PEOPLE ON PLANES SINGING AIRPORT SONGS, on which Jeff played all the instruments.

When Jeff moved back to Brooklyn, NY in mid-2005, he invited old friends Shawn Fogel and Carl Henry Davis to join JP05 as drummer and bassist, respectively, and immediately began mini-touring the Northeast periodically throughout the next year. However, with Shawn based in Connecticut and Carl living up in Maine; in between coordinating schedules, JP05 still performs regularly as a solo electric and sometimes acoustic act.

Straightaway, JP05 has established themselves as a fiercely dynamic band that has the preternatural ability to capture audiences with songs of urgency, plaintive hope and triumph combined with fiercely explosive musical intensity. Profoundly quiet, furiously loud and funny between songs.

In 2006, Jeff recruited sisters, Hilary and Frances Pharr, to form JP05 Version 3.0, a variation on the solo act, in which the Pharrs sang winsome backing harmonies. Version 3.0 traveled out to Sheboygan, WI to do a handful of JP05''s first midwest shows. They sometimes perform with the full band version of JP05 as well.

2007 sees the long awaited release of PEOPLE ON PLANES SINGING AIRPORT SONGS, extensive touring, and possibly version 4.0????
